We’re pleased to announce that we are now accredited by LEEA (Lifting Equipment Engineers Association) to carry out lifting equipment inspection and testing services.

This means we can now support our customers with:

First Parts Off the New ENSIS: What We Learned From Day One

At Laser Profiling Limited, investing in new technology is all about improving the service we provide to our customers. With the installation of our new AMADA ENSIS-3015 AJ 6kW fibre laser, we’re excited to continue evolving our laser cutting capabilities.

This latest addition replaces our previous 4kW AMADA F1 CO₂ laser, which served the business well for many years. Upgrading to fibre laser technology allows us to build on that strong foundation while increasing efficiency, flexibility, and performance.

While the machine is currently completing its commissioning phase, we’ve already had the opportunity to begin running initial test parts – and the early results are extremely encouraging.

Precision From the First Cut

One of the first things that stood out during our initial runs was the consistency and accuracy the ENSIS delivers. Fibre laser technology allows for extremely tight tolerances and clean edge finishes, meaning parts require less secondary processing and move more efficiently through production.

For our customers, this translates directly into high quality components and reliable repeatability across production runs.

Speed and Efficiency

Another immediate advantage we noticed was the cutting speed across a variety of materials. Compared with older CO₂ technology, fibre lasers offer significantly improved cutting performance, particularly on thinner materials.

The ENSIS system also intelligently adjusts the beam mode depending on the material thickness, allowing it to process both thin sheet and thicker plate efficiently on the same machine.

Preparing for Full Production

Although we’re still in the commissioning stage, these first test runs have already demonstrated the advantages this new technology will bring to our workshop.

Laser Profiling Achieves EN1090 Certification to Execution Class 2

Laser Profiling has announced a significant milestone in its growth and commitment to quality, having successfully obtained EN1090 certification to Execution Class 2 (EXC2). The accreditation marks an important step forward for the company, reinforcing its capability to deliver structurally compliant components for a wide range of construction and engineering applications.

EN1090 is a European standard that governs the fabrication and assembly of steel and aluminium structures. Achieving compliance to Execution Class 2 demonstrates that Laser Profiling meets stringent requirements for quality management, traceability, and welding controls—standards typically required for buildings, bridges, and other structural projects.

The certification process involved a comprehensive audit of the company’s internal systems, production procedures, and quality assurance measures. From material handling and documentation to fabrication processes and final inspection, Laser Profiling demonstrated its ability to meet the rigorous demands set out by the standard.

This week marks a proud milestone for Foredowel Ltd as we celebrate 44 years in business. Since our incorporation in 1981, the company has grown from its early beginnings providing site services to Port Talbot Steelworks into a diverse engineering business serving multiple industries across South Wales and beyond.

Over the past four decades, Foredowel Ltd has continually evolved and expanded its capabilities. What started as a site services provider has grown to include a wide range of engineering solutions such as shop fabrication, machine shop services, CNC machining, laser cutting, and onsite electrical services through our sister companies.
